New products

There is continual evolution of products and their application across the range that we supply and install. Here are some items which we felt would be of general interest.

Rotorflush Self-Cleaning Filters

liquid filtersDesigned for liquids, Rotorflush RF series filters will remove suspended solids above 50 microns, maintain constant flow rates and keep on working with little or no maintenance.

The filter screen is cleaned continuously by twin, high pressure water jets up to 120 times per minute. The patent protected design is robust and reliable with just one moving part, which operates on the clean side of the filter screen so it is unaffected by suspended material.

Suitable for numerous applications in industry, agriculture, sewage, water treatment, cleaning and plant protection, the Rotorflush RF offers many user benefits at a capital cost well below other self-cleaning products.

How it Works

rotorflushThe Rotorflush RF is operated by a small proportion of clean water from the output side of the pump (red), which is passed through a dual-headed rotor to create water jets which flush the filter screen up to 120 times per minute. Any solid material drawn onto the outside of the screen is immediately forced off by the pressure and turbulence of the water jets. The Rotorflush is normally mounted so that solids are concentrated at the bottom of the tank or vessel for manual or automated removal.

Simple and robust with only one moving part which operates in filtered water, so it cannot become fouled by fibrous materials.

Copes with high contamination levels, having been designed to handle heavily contaminated farm effluent to enable the efficient spraying of liquid manure.

Low capital cost delivers a rapid payback for numerous applications in industry, sewage, agriculture, water recycling, vehicle washing etc.

An optional electronically-controlled valve is available if there is a risk that surges in solids levels might suddenly block most of the filter screen. A pressure transducer monitors the output pressure from the pump and if this fails, it actuates a valve which temporarily diverts a greater proportion of the output of the pump to the back-flushing rotor. If necessary, the valve will redirect 100% of the flow to the rotor within 5 sections and then progressively reinstate the normal flow as the output pressure returns to normal. If this fails to clear the blockage the electronic controls will switch off the pump.

Microfloat® - intelligent UV-disinfection ...

... The elimination of germs in water and containers without chemicals

The first UV germ inactivation system with residual effect and surface barrier.

The star among UV disinfectants

Standard diving lamps which are placed on the tank floor have no effect against germ entry from above. A considerable part of the irradiated energy is wasted due to shadow areas caused by the lamp design.

In this way, Microfloat® floats on the surface of the liquid and irradiates the entire container. Thus 100% of the radiation energy is used for germ inactivation. Germs which reach the container via the container ventilation are destroyed immediately, before they can contaminate the water.

uv disinfectants

In this way, Microfloat® acts as a powerful barrier against reinfection. In addition, the formation of colonies on the damp container walls is effectively prevented.

microfloat

Microfloat® disinfects the entire container chamber (both fluid and gas) and creates an effective barrier against further infection.

Two-in-one: Up to now, several systems were required to carry out Microfloat®´s dual function.

Microfloat® can be installed easily in any container and is very simple to operate. Due to its low energy requirement Microfloat® is the economical germ destruction system for all containers with static or varying fluid levels.

water treatment

Do you have large containers or containers with a high liquid throughput?

Combining Microfloat® with a Microfloat® Basic flow-through disinfection reactor is the economical solution.

Use in laboratories, industry and water supply:

Storage containers in water treatment facilities (reverse osmosis systems, demineralized water tanks) and production systems, cisterns and reservoirs.

Other applications :

- beverage industry

- pharmaceutical industry

- foodstuff industry

- cosmetic industry

- plating industry

- drinking water supply

Hydrovar

The Climate Change Levy has effected all business and heavy energy users have been worst hit.
The hydrovar manages your pump performance to match a wide range of system conditions, allowing energy savings of up to 70% in some applications.  Payback can be in 12 months for applications where demand varies considerably and is "peaky".  An example of this is in hotels where baths and showers create a high peak water demand but there is relatively little demand for long periods of the day and night. A case study for a brewery is included in the newsletter.

Grundfos SQ pump

The Grundfos SQ-SQE series represents a significant step in design and performance of high quality compact submersible pumps. It has a self diagnostic capability with automatic voltage control, is made from lightweight composites and easier to use.  The compact 3" design makes the these pumps suitable for a variety of applications such as domestic water supply, small community water works, irrigation, tank applications and various environmental uses.

Eco-Vat Rain Harvesting Systems

Mains water is essential for cooking and drinking. For all other uses, rainwater from an Eco-Vat system provides a healthy and acceptable alternative. In areas where no mains water is available, Eco-VAT can even be adapted to provide all water requirements, including potable water.

Unlike the water that comes to us from reservoirs, rainwater is absolutely free. What's more, on average, each day more than 50% of the UK's total daily water requirement falls freely on the roofs over our heads.

Eco-Vat systems are ideal for developments where storm water discharges are restricted, offering source control rainfall. The high volume attenuates peak flows in the system, reducing the requirements for tank sewers and specialist flow control equipment.

This is the first complete fully integrated and easy to install system on the market.
